Jillian Richard - Owner

Jillian grew up in Concordia, KS. She started taking dance at age 3 and gymnastics at age 5.  She was a competitve gymnast through level 9 and went on to coach younger classes while in high school.  She opened Jillian's Dynamic Dance in 1995 which she operated for the next 5 years until moving to Kansas CIty to complete nursing school.  While in undergradute school, Jillian was also fortunate enough to participate on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity K-State Cheer Squads.  She currently works part time as a nurse practitioner at Saint Luke's South.

Jessie McElwain - Director & Instructor 

 

Jessie grew up taking dance her whole life.  She started dance at Nebraska Dance and later moved to Le Dance Studio.  In high school, she danced with her school dance team and was very active with the choreography.  She also worked as a stage manager for a few dance competitions that travel to Kansas City.  Jessie graduated from KU with Bachelors of Business Administration.  She loves being a part of JJD and helping children grow in their knowledge of dance.   

Jordan West -  Assistant Director & Instructor 

 

Jordan began dancing at the age of 4. She later danced competitively for the LE Dance Company and continued dancing on her high school’s dance team. She performed for her high school’s musical, “Crazy For You”, where she danced as a Follies Showgirl. She took various dance classes while obtaining her Bachelor’s at Iowa State University and participated in Greek Week Lip Sync performances. Dance has been a big part of Jordan’s life and she hopes to encourage others’ growth through dance.

Bridget McBratney - Instructor 

Bridget started dancing at age 3 at the Blue Valley Rec Center and moved to Liz Kelley Dance Studio 1 at the age of 6. She danced there until she graduated high school in 2013, while she was also a 3 year varsity member of the Blue Valley North Stars Dance Team. After graduating from Kansas State University in 2017, she took the job as dance team coach at Spring Hill High School. She is going into her 3rd season coaching and loves watching the girls grow and bond with one another over their mutual love of dance!

Emily Rackers - Ballet Instructor 

 

Emily Rackers graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography. She has performed works by DeeAnna Hiett, Gary Abbott, Ronald Tice, Kevin Iega-Jeff, Nilas Martin, David Justin, Michael Blake, and Tom Gold. Additional training was provided by Visceral Dance Theater, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, Mark Morris Dance Group, and Eisenhower Dance Detroit. Her choreographic works include Restitution, Reflection, and her own version of Carmina Burana. Currently, Rackers is a performing artist with Störling Dance Theater and is completing her 600 Hour Classical Pilates Education. 

Anastasaya Bagdasaryan - Instructor 

 

Anastasaya is from Shawnee, KS, and is 23 years old. She just

graduated from the University of Kansas with a BFA in dance and a minor in business. Anna has been dancing since she was 6 years old. During her time as a studio dancer at Nallia’s School of Dance, she was trained in ballet, jazz, modern, acrobats, and dipped my toes in tap for a few years. She auditioned for my studio's competition team when she was 13 years old, and competed up until graduating high school in 2016.

In high school, Anna co-choreographed for her school’s Mr.Indian pageant. This pageant allowed boys from school to audition, and be part of a pageant where they would perform in a group dance that included all participants, and also perform an individual skill of their choice. The winner was determined by overall performance and presentation. Anna also cheered for four years, 3 of which were on varsity. At KU she auditioned for the University Dance Company (UDC). As a UDC member, she performed in numerous pieces each semester, including 2 guest artist pieces. She also produced and co-choreographed a student-run showcase.

Hanna La Londe -  Instructor 

Hanna La Londe is from Lenexa, KS. For 12 years, Hanna was a competitive dancer at Starstruck Performing Arts Center in Lenexa, KS. As a high school senior she was a co-captain for her dance team, giving her many opportunities to choreograph and critique dances. During her senior year, she won the National PTA’s Award of Excellence for dance choreography and performed her winning choreography at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington D.C. Hanna graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering and a minor in Spanish from Kansas State University in 2019. During her freshman and sophomore year, Hanna performed across the country at football games, basketball games, pep rallies, and other events as a member of the Classy Cats dance team. 
Hanna has choreographed for high schools and dance studios as well as judged competitions and taught master classes in the Kansas City area. Hanna’s favorite styles to teach are ballet, contemporary, and technique.

Luke McElwain - Instructor 

 

 

Luke is passionate about mentorship, establishing student understanding, and assisting in various ways to help improve the student's skill sets.  Luke graduated in 2017 from the University of Kansas with a Master of Construction Management and a Master of Architecture. He is currently a designer at Yaeger Architecture, manages a private construction company and is the current Director of Operations at Spaces of Hope.
